Things to know
There a specific ADA regulations regarding rise height and ramp lengths. For manual powered (push style) wheelchairs (occupied) require for every one inch of vertical rise requires one foot of horizontal length ramp. For power mobility devices (occupied) for every one inch of vertical rise requires six inches of horizontal length ramp. 

Things to look out for
Before purchasing a ramp for loading in to vehicle we have noticed that, due to the height of some vehicles using a ramp for vehicle loading can be difficult. We recommend smooth transition between the ground and the ramp and ramp to vehicle. First measure the amount of rise from the floor to the inside cargo loading level as well as load height level. Most scooters and power wheelchairs have a very low ground clearance which could cause the bottom of the unit catch on the ramp causing damage and difficulty loading. Also most devices have rear anti-tip wheels or rear caster wheels that prevent the mobility device from climbing such high incline degree. Excessive incline can lift the rear drive wheels up away from the ramp when load which makes loading difficult and sometime impossible. We recommend when using a powered mobility device and a ramp to load in to a vehicle to use caution, low speed when powered and read the devices safety instructions**. Also make sure that you have adequate storage space in the vehicle to accommodate the mobility device and ramp.

What's the difference
Folding ramps are great for transporting or storing, Sold ramps are perfect for better permanent placement, transitioning from surface to surface and different wheel configuration of mobility device due to no join or center line in the ramp. Ridged aluminum no slip ramps give a grip but very slight uneven ride but better cleaning surface. AS (Anti Slip) ramps with black non slip material give great grip and a smother surface.
