One way of transporting your mobility device is by using a dedicated powered vehicle lift. There are three main categories of vehicle lifts available that fit most mobility devices on select vehicles. First thing to know is make sure your vehicle is compatible to carry a lift and your device. Hitch Mounted Lifts
Normally the most common and cheapest option is the hitch mounted vehicle lift and do not require any drilling to secure the to the vehicle. This style of lift is installed to the vehicle pre-installed trail hitch ad folds up when not in use. There are two options of trailer hitch adaptors which are 1 1/4″ receiver which is usually found lighter vehicles with smaller towing capacities and the larger Class III 2″ receiver hitch for higher capacity towing. The higher the towing capacity the heaver mobility device you can carry on your vehicle.

Inside Hybrid Lifts
Usually, hybrid internal lifts are non-invasive vehicle installation with no drilling requires and totally reversable. The most secure and safest way to transport your mobility device is with the Hybrid style internal lift. No lifting of the mobility device the lift does all the work for you all you need to do is secure the device to your lift for safe travel.

Hoist Lifts
The most invasive of all the lifts is the hoist style lift where drilling into the vehicle is required to attach the lift to the vehicle. A little extra work required to loading the mobility device to the hoist via either carabiner clips or via a c-style hook hoist adaptor. Sometime vehicle might have a height restriction and may require the seat to be removed before loading.
What Powers the lift?
All electric powered lifts run from the vehicle’s battery via a dedicated fused power wiring harness supplied with the lift.
Can I still gain access to the rear of my vehicle?
For hitch mounted lifts to gain access to vehicle with a hatch configuration, or under mounted inside cargo spare tire e.g. SUV’s, trucks and mini vans will require a swing-away arm to be fitted to the lift to gain access to the rear of the vehicle.
Will my parking aids be affected
Yes, reversing sensors and rear-view camera will be effect by have a hitch mounted lift on the back of your vehicle.
Important things to know when having a hitch mounted lift on your vehicle
• Never take you vehicle through a automated roller brush car wash as these can get caught in the lift and damage the car wash, always get your vehicle hand washed
• Always secure or remove loose items on your mobility device like seat, battery box, basket and keys.
• For added safety use a bicycle lock, scooter cover and a ratchet strap for extra security for long journeys
