Things to know
The AL435 powered boom maneuver the largest possible power chair or scooter into the smallest vehicle openings. More versatile and flexible than any other inside van and pick-up truck lift on the market today, it adapts to most mini-vans, full sized vans, SUV’s and pick-up trucks. Fits other specialty vehicles such as the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Triple axis lift provides fully powered lifting, boom extension and rotation for the easiest of, most effortless loading.

Things to look out for
Some single ramp carriers on the market can be too steep making it difficult to load or can damage your mobility device. Back-up sensors, reversing auto braking can be effected and rear view cameras will be obscured due to having a external vehicle lift/carrier on the rear of the vehicle. For manual tie-down style lifts we recommend added security of a bike lock or chain and padlock if you need to leave your scooter for any period of time unattended on the lift.

What's the difference
There are many different sizes and type of lifts, hoist and carriers available on the market today to help assist with making life a little easier when loading and unloading your mobility device. Manual rear mounted carriers are the cheapest options available and require some strength to load, unload and unfold the ramp for carrying and removing your mobility device. Most manual carriers do not have a swing-away function but sit low enough for you to still gain access to the trunk of your vehicle. Rear mounted power lifts require very little effort when it comes to loading and unloading your mobility device due to them having built in auto lock down arm and fold up when empty capabilities*. Due to the power mast of an outside electric vehicle lift rear access to the trunk, tailgate or under mounted spare tire of your vehicle will be obstructed unless fitted with a swing away arm option.

*Not all lifts feature auto fold or lock down capabilities and may require manual folding or manual straps to secure your mobility device. External carriers and electric lifts require Class I, II or III rear mount vehicle hitch receiver to be attached to the vehicle prior to installation of you lift. The lift/carrier or hoist requires assembly upon delivery which includes attaching the hitch adaptor or mounting brackets, wiring, plus any accessories such as drop down and rising tube and swing-away options. Be sure to measure the distance from the top of your trailer hitch mount attached to your vehicle to the ground to insure you have enough lift mast downward travel to reach the ground before ordering.

If you have any doubts please contact us on (702 265 2441) for advice and compatibility. Unsure if your vehicle is compatible? Please use Harmar's vehicle compatibility guide here to help you find your lift solution. Not all vehicles are compatible for carrying a rear mounted lift or carrier. Please consult you vehicles owners manual for Trailer towing and or maximum tongue weights. For more information regarding lifts and compatibility please visit our lift information page here.
